Malin Kundang

Long time ago, in a small village near the beach in West Sumatera, lived a woman and her son, Malin Kundang. Malin including a smart kid but a bit naughty. When he was kid one of this friend said “ Hey malin, you are so poor and you didn’t have father, poor you...poor you” and malin so angry, he said that “ One day i want to be rich man and i will not help you when you are poor!” “are you sure?” (his friend) “yaaa you can see later” (malin kundang). Malin kundang ran to his mother, he cried “mom...mom i’m very sad because my friend say that i don’t have money and father” his mther said “ don’t sad malin, you must study hard and work hard, you must show your friend that you will be succes people” (malin cried).

After growing up, He thought to make a living in the country side in hopes of later on when returning home, he was already a wealthy man, so he said to his mother, “Mother, this time for me to be succes people, i want to be a rich man, so I want to go to the country side. Please release me mom.” “ WHAT? Do you want to leave me? In this village? Alone?” (mother) “mom, listen to me, i really want to be rich man, i’m so tired mom with their insuting.” And his mother cried and after that she agreed with him. She said “ Ok, i permited you, but i have two request for you.” “yes mom, what?” (malin kundang) “ you must promise to me, you don’t forget me as your mother and the second you must go back to this village.” (mother) “yes mom, really i will come back” (malin kundang).

Two days later, malin wanted to go the country side. He went to the country side with the ship, in the ship he worked as crew of the ship. He worked diligently and malin became to manager in the ship, and the owner f the ship wanted to him marry with his daugter.

After long time ago, malin with his wife visited to a village. When the ship arrived in the pier all of the people said “who is this owner? Who is this owner of the ship?” when the owner went out from the ship the people, very shock because the owner of the ship was malin and one of the people ran to the his mother “mom...mom...follow me, there is a malin in the pier” “oh... malin, my son?” (mother) “ yes, your son come on, come on follow me!”. His mother ran to the pier. Do you know? When at the pier shounted “malin... malin.. my son!!!” she looked happy and malin was shock and his wife said “she is your mother?” “no, she is no my mother, i’m rich and handsome look this old woman she was so ugly, poor, and dirty woman.” (malin) his mother was shock “malin, you  forget me? Are you sure you didn’t remember me?” he was angry he push her and he left his mother. His mother was disappointed and said “ hay you, if you are really my son i curse you bacome rock!” and malin just ignor and back to his ship. Suddenly, thunderstorm came, the high wive came too. All of the people in ship was afraid and malin kundang said “oh God forgive me, i’m so sorry. I’m love my mother!!” But suddenly thunderstorm affected him, he became a rock. Yaa malin kundang bacame a rock.

And all of you must learn from this story, we are as children must respect to our parents. Becausse every that our parents say is a prayer for us, fristly our mother.
